BMW developing a tri-turbo diesel engine
BMW announced that it will develop a new high performance Ms versions of the X5 and X6 SUV sports vehicle. This new developments of a tri-turbo diesel Ms gets new exterior enhancements and with all the performance upgrades which include the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that is same as the original X6 last year. However the M version of the V8 gets more horsepower from 400 hp to 555 hp.
In Europe, most of the X6 and X5 sales are came with the BMW’s 3.0-liter dual turbo 6-cylinder diesel and produces 286 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. BMW is said to be working on a high performance version of that engine that adds a third turbocharger which could produce about 350 hp. The tri-turbo diesel gets a start-stop system and a regenerative braking system as well. One of the recent examples car that also use a diesel is the concept Mercedes-Benz SLK320 CDI Tri-Turbo which it runs a V6 diesel engine with 2 small turbos that connect to the 1 large turbo. It boosts to make 286hp and 628Nm of torque but it never went into production because it is too expensive.
