Thursday, May 8th, 2008
German specialist Mercedes-Benz tuner Carlsson has released the Carlsson CK50 without roof based on the face lifted 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 roadster with much improved performances.
New electronic control unit (ECU) is introduced to the new CK50 that will improve the output of the 5.5 liter V8 to produce 435hp (instead of the factory 388 hp) and a 600 Nm of torque. In addition the new “software” for the control unit includes a complete set of body air filter, a special set of spark plugs and refined a small sport exhaust system that include four polished tailpipes. With these modifications, the car is capable to top at 293 km/h and should do 0-100km/h in a mere 5.1 seconds.
Other than the performance modifiers, Carlsson has came up with a lengthier front spoiler and electro-polished grille inserts, a rear diffuser with air conduction system and rear spoiler for the SL with AMG package. Other nice addition includes an intelligent electronic 30mm lowered C-Tronic suspension and the 19/20-inch light-weight multi-stoke wheels. Price for the modification is unknown yet. (more…)
